Maritime Maids: Premier Interior Boat Detailing Services Across the East Coast

Based in North Carolina and South Carolina, Maritime Maids has created a niche business in interior boat detailing for sportfishing boats and yachts. With a presence at fishing tournaments and boat shows—and expansion plans reaching into Florida and beyond—this unique service brings a level of luxury and attention to detail that boat owners, captains, and mates can rely on.

From Big Pharma to Big Waters: The Founder’s Journey

Krystina Fuge, founder of Maritime Maids, grew up along North Carolina’s coast, where she developed a love for fishing and the sportfishing community in general. Leaving a career in the pharmaceutical industry, she turned her passion into a business by launching Maritime Maids in 2022. Her background in the boating industry, combined with her entrepreneurial spirit, has driven Maritime Maids to stand out as a trusted provider of boat detailing services. “Giving back to the community has always been a priority,” Krystina says, noting her involvement in local tournaments, volunteer work, and community donations.

A Unique Service Offering with a Woman’s Touch

Maritime Maids specializes in interior boat detailing and concierge services tailored to meet the needs of high-end sportfishing boats. Their services range from deep cleans and basic cleans after charters to comprehensive organizing and provisioning. With options like laundry services, linen changing, carpet cleaning, and even bartending and stew services, Maritime Maids ensures each boat’s interior is pristine and guest-ready. “We understand the unique needs of sportfishermen,” Krystina shares, emphasizing the skill and knowledge that goes into maintaining the beautiful boats and the fine materials you’ll find on them like teak, granite, quartz, and Alcantara.

Serving the Sportfishing Community with Pride

Catering primarily to boat owners, captains, and mates, “Many captains and mates already have their hands full, and cleaning shouldn’t be an added worry,” Krystina explains. Maritime Maids steps in with “a woman’s touch” to give each boat a turn key finish.  Their dedication to quality has led clients to express their gratitude, often remarking, “We couldn’t have done it without you!”

An Industry Leader in Interior Boat Detailing

One of the few companies specializing in interior boat detailing, Maritime Maids has become a leader in the field, with their team recognized by their signature red dresses and strong social media presence. With teams in multiple locationsn throughout the sportfishing circuit, they coordinate to provide services as boats move up and down the coast, ensuring consistent service across their current geographic locations. “Our reputation speaks for itself,” Krystina notes. Many clients are referrals or discover Maritime Maids through word of mouth. Additionally, Maritime Maids is fully insured, adding a level of security that clients appreciate.

Overcoming Challenges to Build Success

The path to success hasn’t been without its challenges, Krystina shares. Early on, the biggest hurdles were managing payroll and securing steady business funding, especially with the common industry practice of net-30 payment terms. Krystina quickly learned to budget, reinvesting early profits back into the business. Maritime Maids has grown through sheer dedication and determination. “Breaking into our first brokerage and boatyard partnerships took confidence to keep trying, but it was worth the effort,” she recalls.

A Culture of Teamwork and Fun

Maritime Maids isn’t just about providing high-quality services; it’s also about creating a supportive work environment. “Building a happy, hardworking team is the foundation of our business,” Krystina says. She actively works alongside her team to ensure fair compensation and a positive experience for both employees and clients. Being hands on has led many employees to view Maritime Maids as a second family. Team events and tournament attendance add a layer of camaraderie, making Maritime Maids a rewarding place to work.

Looking Ahead: Growth and Expansion in 2025

With a solid business model and a growing client base, Maritime Maids is ready to expand. In 2025, they plan to move into new states and build upon partnerships with marinas, brokerages, boat builders, and more. Krystina and her team are excited for the challenges and opportunities that come with bringing their sportfishing expertise to more clients in the boating community.
