Job Description
Mate Position – Viking Sportfish (Dominican Republic → Panama → Caribbean)
We’re looking for a Mate to join our program aboard a Viking Sportfish currently in the Dominican Republic, with plans to run to Panama through February and the Caribbean (March–April).
About the Program:
This is a well-maintained Viking Sportfish focused on chasing blue and black marlin throughout prime Central American and Caribbean grounds. We’re a hands-on, professional operation with an emphasis on serious fishing, teamwork, and maintaining top standards on and off the dock.
Position: Mate
Location: Dominican Republic → Panama → Caribbean
Start Date: Immediate
End Date: April 2026 or full time.
Responsibilities:
Daily fishing prep: rigging baits, maintaining tackle, and keeping gear tournament-ready
Dockside maintenance and washdowns
Assisting with navigation, docking, and general vessel upkeep
Working closely with the captain and guests to ensure smooth, safe, and productive trips
Requirements:
Strong marlin experience (blue and/or black marlin highly preferred)
Experience on sportfishing vessels 50’+ (Viking experience a plus)
Solid mechanical and maintenance skills
Positive, professional attitude and good communication
Ability to travel internationally (valid passport required)
Compensation:
Competitive pay based on experience, travel covered, and potential for tips during fishing trips.
