Supplies needed: Wind-on leader and snap swivel. A popular technique used on the pro circuit to secure a snap swivel to a wind-on leader with a crimp is a crimped clover hitch. The theory behind this connection is it creates a stronger connection versus a standard loop and crimp.

Next, run tag end behind main leader

Next pass tag end through swivel again as pictured
Next pass tag end through swivel again as pictured
Next pass tag end through the loop created by previous step
Next pass tag end through the loop created by previous step
Next tighten knot around swivel
Next tighten knot around swivel
Finally secure crimp
