FISHING GUIDE / MATE / YACHT PROGRAM:
Seeking an experienced freelance fishing guide / mate for an active yacht program operating in South Florida and the Bahamas.
Trip #1: April 22 – May 2
Additional trips scheduled throughout May and June
Vessels:
• 2025 – 41′ Valhalla (fully rigged for fishing)
• 120′ Motor Yacht
Looking for licensed captain / fishing guide / mate / to run our 41′ Valhalla and assist yacht crew. We need someone who can really fish and is experienced and knowledgeable in South Florida / Bahamas region. All kinds of fishing required: trolling, bottom, deep dropping and kite fishing. We need someone with the right attitude and is excited to fish, yet can be polite and cordial to the yacht owners and their guests. Candidate needs to present a professional outward appearance and know their place in front of high profile guests. Boss loves to fish and wants someone to encourage others without crossing that line of professionalism.
Ideal Candidate:
• Male, 25–45 (preferred)
• Healthy, fit, non-smoker
• Extensive knowledge of Bahamas fishing grounds and hot spots
• Prior charter/yacht experience a plus
• Adaptable—able to adjust techniques based on conditions and guest preferences
Additional Responsibilities:
• Some mate work will be required (washdowns, driving, towing procedures). We all pitch in and work together.
• Work collaboratively with a crew of 5 (Captain, Engineer, Mate, Stewardess, Chef)
• Team-first mentality is essential
