Job Description
Seeking a full-time mate for a sportfishing program operating in South Florida, Bahamas, and North Carolina. This program schedule will be changing in the near future with more travel plans.
Horse Play is a family operation serious about fishing. We compete in tournaments in the Bahamas and in North Carolina.
Winter in Florida is kite fishing and dredge fishing with Bahamas trips mixed in.
We will be heading over to the Bahamas soon and plan to stay through June, then back to reload and head to Pirates Cove in NC.
Prerequisites:
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid passport
- Captains license or working towards one
Qualifications:
- Self-motivated
- Professional
- Organized
- Punctual
- Team player
- Dead-Bait trolling | Dredge fishing | Pitching circle hooks | Heavy tackle
- Kite fishing | Swordfishing | Wahoo fishing | Bottom fishing | In-shore fishing
- Drive center console (26 Regulator)
- Work long hours when needed
- Vessel maintenance to yacht standards
- Hospitality and guest relation skills
Experience working aboard a sportfish boat is required. However, we are willing to train the right candidate: someone who is attentive, eager to learn, and able to take direction—even if they are not yet proficient in all required skills.
Compensation will be based on experience, with a highly competitive salary offered to candidates who demonstrate strong proficiency and expertise.
